The building originally was built as a school and the first graduating class consisted of 13 students at graduation. Brevard's Bee Queen

Melbourne's own Stuti Mishra is headed to the national finals for spelling after her gallant win in Orlando at the 52nd Annual Orlando Sentinel Local Spelling Bee. Now that she has won, she will advance to the national finals in Washington D.C. in June. Stuti won the competition by spelling the word "T-A-W-D-R-I-L-Y" right after it was used in the sentence "the tawdrily dressed actress signed autographs outside the hotel". Stuti was attending West Melbourne Elementary School for science and is now a student at Holy Trinity in Melbourne both school are always close to Melbourne real estate. The Melbourne community is proud of their own Spelling Bee Queen Stuti Mishra and is looking forward to hearing more about her spelling victories in the future!

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Even though I am 1/4 Irish I have yet to make it out to enjoy St. Patrick's Day festivities. That is until I realized that Downtown Melbourne is having their St. Patrick's Day Parade this Saturday March 19th and it isn't too late to get in on the fun. The Parade begins marching east down New Haven Avenue to Depot Drive in Downtown Melbourne. If you are out for the day, exploring Melbourne real estate then you have a great excuse to stop and check out the amazing floats, fun bagpipe players, Irish inspired decorated cars and in true Florida style, decorated boats! This is also a great time to explore all that Downtown Melbourne has to offer, I highly recommend completing the Irish day with a great meal at Meg O'Malley's Irish Pub and Restaurant. For today everyone is Irish at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Melbourne.

I must confess that searching for local things to do can seem overwhelming. The internet is full of information but it can often seem vast and scattered. That's why, when I need a night out I refer to the Brevard Art Museum. Most museums may not seem like great resources for fun and entertainment but the Brevard Art Museum is not just any Museum. This Friday and every 3rd Friday of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the museum hosts Jazz Friday in their own Fletcher Music Center. These events are open to the public and you won't believe your ears when you experience the talent the museum attracts! The price to get in is just $10 and while you are there, check out the rest of the museum.
