The Melbourne area is full of a rich and long history and one can't discuss this history without learning about the Henegar Center for the Arts. Located among Melbourne's historic buildings in downtown Melbourne, the Henegar Center for the Arts's building was constructed in 1920. The building originally was built as a school and the first graduating class consisted of 13 students at graduation. In 1991 the doors opened as the  Henegar Center for the Arts with a 493-seat Proscenium style Theater.  The Theater's current production is Almost Maine about a remote, mythical town and its unexpected effect of love and comedy on its residents.
